How to verify a pet toy supplier in Vietnam
Many buyers first meet a Vietnamese supplier online, on a marketplace, by email or through a referral. These are the checks worth doing before you pay, and what each one looks like for us.
Short answer: check five things before you pay a pet toy supplier in Vietnam. Search its enterprise registration number on Vietnam’s National Business Registration Portal. Pay only a company bank account that matches the Proforma Invoice. Hold samples before you order. Ask which export documents come with each shipment. Read which product each test report actually covers.
Five checks before you pay
| Check | What to look for | For WINVN INT |
|---|---|---|
| Registered company | A legal name and enterprise registration number you can search on the National Business Registration Portal. Search by the enterprise number; the portal shows the Vietnamese name and, where registered, a foreign-language name. | WINVN INT CO., LTD · 0316014351, issued 12 November 2019, Ho Chi Minh City |
| Bank account | One account in the company’s name. Treat any email that changes the bank details as suspect until you confirm it by phone or WhatsApp, using a number you already have. | One company bank account, printed on our Proforma Invoice |
| Samples | Physical samples of the products you plan to order, before you commit to a production order. | 3 free samples per customer; you cover the shipping cost |
| Export documents | A clear list of the documents prepared for each shipment, and which ones depend on your market. | Commercial Invoice and Packing List, with a Bill of Lading for sea freight or an Air Waybill for air freight, plus phytosanitary, fumigation or Certificate of Origin when your market requires them; a Certificate of Origin depends on product eligibility |
| Test reports | The report itself, naming the product and the test. A report covers the sample that was tested, not every product the supplier sells. | SGS heavy-element test to ASTM F963-23 clause 4.3.5, coffee wood only (details) |
Warning signs
- Bank details that change by email, or a request to pay a personal account.
- A supplier that will not give its legal name or registration number.
- A test report for a different product, or a certification mark without a document behind it.
- Promises that no natural product can keep, such as identical pieces or a guaranteed result on a marketplace.
None of these proves fraud on its own. Each is a reason to stop and ask before you pay.
