Hemp vs coconut fiber dog toys: which should you stock?

Both are natural plant fibres made into dog toys in Vietnam. They behave very differently in a dog’s mouth, and that difference decides which listing each one belongs in.

Hemp rope ball toys on loops

Short answer: stock hemp when you want the stiffer of the two: hemp rope is much stiffer than coconut fiber. Sell coconut fiber (coco coir) as an occasional, light-chewing toy, because it is soft and frays as a dog chews, and say so on the listing. Both lines have a minimum order of 50 pieces per product, both are branded with a printed tag or packaging, and neither has a lab test report.

Why the difference matters for your reviews

A coconut fiber toy sold as a tough chew will disappoint the owner of a strong chewer, and on a marketplace a handful of one-star reviews can sink a listing. The same toy described honestly, as a soft natural toy for occasional play, meets the expectation it sets.

Hemp suits the broader “natural rope toy” listing. It still wears with use, like any rope toy, so we make no durability claim for either material.

Ordering both

You can test both. The minimum is counted per product, not per size, so a first order can be 50 hemp balls across sizes plus 50 coconut fiber rope chews across lengths. Both lines can share a container with our coffee wood and loofah lines. The full path from first message to delivery is on small first orders.

Questions buyers ask

Which is tougher, hemp or coconut fiber?
Hemp. Hemp rope is much stiffer than coconut fiber, which is soft and frays as a dog chews. For a tougher natural rope toy, choose hemp.
Can I order hemp and coconut fiber toys in one shipment?
Yes. The minimum is 50 pieces per product for both lines, sizes can be mixed, and the lines can share a container. Tell us the products and quantities and our sales team plans the load with you.
Do you have a test report for hemp or coconut fiber toys?
No. Our SGS heavy-elements result covers coffee wood only. We do not have a comparable report for hemp or coconut fiber.
Can you put our logo on hemp or coconut fiber toys?
Yes, on a printed tag or the packaging, from the files you send. Hemp and coconut fiber are not laser engraved; laser engraving is for coffee wood only.
